Today, many people make clothes quickly, distribute them quickly, and consume these clothes. The process feels like eating fast food that can be eaten as soon as you place an order.  At lunchtime in the UK, I could see many people enjoyed eating ‘sandwiches’. Sandwiches are easy and quick to make and simple to eat, so many people have sandwiches for lunch. These sandwiches resemble today’s fast fashion. And, I think that the process of making clothes is similar to making food. So, in the sandwich recipe, I would like to express interesting process by textile.

I made a sandwich myself while looking for a sandwich recipe. During the process of making sandwiches, it was interesting to accumulate the ingredients. It seemed like assembling a block-building game or Lego. So I tried to collage with sandwich materials and blocks. The finished sandwich showed a great visual effect because the various materials were layered. And it was interesting that the materials were sticking out, so I made a sample of textiles using fishing lines and rubber bands.

I saw a book called Katja Gruijters' Food Design, which was recommended by the tutor in the school library. For example, there was a work of using cheese for food and architecture as well as for fashion and interior. I wondered how I could develop sandwiches into textiles.

I started looking for Greenman at the start of the Herod project. Greenman is a doorman with a green item from head to toe and is a mark of Herod. Looking at images related to Greenman, I saw Herod's vintage car, and the shape was interesting. So I will research the image of the vintage car and use the head of the car or the shaper of each part. The first thing I saw when I saw Greenman was Wes Anderson 's Grand Budapest Hotel Movie. I think that the bellboy and the colorful interior shown here are similar to Herod. I want to use the color of this film as the project color palette.

I made a pattern while drawing a car shape. I made a sample of the texture that I felt with a patterned yarn and cloth in my color palette. I had to make a sample using a variety of materials, but the materials I used were so limited that I felt sorry. Also, there seems to be a lack of research related to the texture, so I did not find much material.

I went to see the exhibition at l'etrangere gallery. There were several textile works, of which there were works related to my project. She expressed the food in crochet, and made some toast. I went home and researched Su Richardson's work more, but it was mainly an artist working with knitting. I am also interested in knitting, but the work of this artist seems to be of great help during the project.

Now I have to prepare the material to make the which witch's sandwich recipe. After I went to the exhibition last week, I was inspired by the artist 's work and made bread. I made the breadcrumb body with crochet in a beige cotton thread. Observing the edge of the bread, I made with brown, rough, textured yarn. Toast the bread to create a grill mark on the surface, which uses a knit and a purl to express a three-dimensional feeling like a grill mark.

I went to eat the famous All'antico Vinaio sandwich in Florence. The store queue was really long and I waited in line. Various homemade hams were hanging on the shop ceiling. The hams hanging from the ceiling were interesting, so I thought it would be better to use them when working later. It is likely to be helpful in making samples by looking at various kinds of fresh ham.

I used soap to make a mixed salad. Firstly, I made the liquid form by melting the transparent soap with heat. Then put the nanoblocks that look like chopped vegetables into the melted soap and put them in the refrigerator. Once completed, it becomes transparent and the inside becomes shiny and firmly formed. At first, I put dyed flour to mix various colors, but the dyed powder did not mix well with the soap, so It got a spot. When it is hotter, the powder should be mixed quickly and the color will come out. The second one is made of transparent color, but if I did not put anything in it, it would have been better to have the color, but if I want to make the materials look better, I will see the transparent form better and use the second sample. It was a really exciting work to create a textile sample using mixed media.

I did research on sandwich wrappers and picnic mats and made my own wrapping paper and picnic mats. Sandwich wrapping paper developed sandwich drawings and mark making to make print patterns. I will try to print it like a sandwich wrapper on an A3 or larger paper. Picnic mats and table mats usually have a lot of check patterns. I made my own long check table mat using weaving. This check is a layered check pattern like a layer of sandwich materials. I really liked the check pattern so it was happy. If I have more time, I would like to develop more here to make various checks.

I finished the sandwich samples and tried simulation before taking the video tomorrow.

I took pictures using the finished samples and real food. I have drawn conti and plan to make sandwiches in the order of recipes. Because it is an image that is made by combining real and textile samples, I had to shoot one by one pictures because there are many awkward parts when I take a video. I think it would have been nice if the materials were more abundant. I was tired because I had to shoot every beckoning, but it was a really exciting time. If I have a chance, I would like to do this again.

Today I take a photo shoot of the final outcome. I put a white fabric on the table and a table mat made of weaving on it. I put the sandwich on the plate and put the fork and the plate, and it felt more real. It was better because I felt a feeling of liveliness when I took a picture like a model. In fact, I am sorry to have made this project out quickly, but it seems to be finished well.

First of all, I picked up a lot of pictures that I could edit before them. I found the proper sound, got it down and edited it. When I saw the finished video, I was completely relaxed. I really felt that I needed a lot of moments and moments to make an animation with my photos. The images I made were not photographed at every moment in the flow of the stream, so there was no connection unnatural. But I think it is quite successful for my first animation challenge. This project was a good opportunity to find out the direction of the work I would like to do in the future. I want to do styling of food through textile in the future and make such a video. I learned the technique of video editing and made sound myself, and I will do this work on my own personally. I am really happy that the final project of the foundation is well done with the work that was interesting.
